Our client, a major global financial services provider engaged in retail and commercial banking, is looking for a AJAX/Java/SQL Server/Perl developer.

Type of Position: Fulltime
Location: New York, NY

AJAX/Java/SQL Server/Perl developer to enhance the company's publishing systems, web-based content and analytical tools. We are creating a new Equity Research Financial Metrics project, which demands a substantial GUI. This position in the Research IT group will offer the opportunity to participate in all phases of the development process and make a significant contribution to the success of the department.

Main Duties:
Successful candidates will:
  • Design and implement enhancements to our publishing systems, research archives, and client web sites
  • Exercise technology leadership - optimize performance, reliability, scalability and extensibility
  • Experience all aspects of the project life cycle, from design and development to routine support.
  • Code in every area: Front End GUI development, mid-tier applications services, and Back End database, server configuration, and Scripting work.

    Person Requirements:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, should be able to multitask and switch gears quickly
    Strong HTML GUI experience - AJAX/Javascript required, Flex a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in Java (J2EE, XML/XSL, Web Services)
  • Experience with SQL server/relational database systems
  • Linux experience and Web Server (Apache) and Enterprise Application Servers (Weblogic/JBoss) experience
  • Experience with Open Source technologies such as Spring and Hibernate a plus
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication skills - you will work directly with many parts of the business.
